Out of round wheels - safe to repair?

Tire shop said at least 2 of my 4 Rota rims were out of round. There weren't major dents, just slight bends that were detected when the wheel was spinning on the balancing machine. I assume the inner part of rim gets out of round easier as there are no spokes there verses the outer part which has the spokes.

Is it safe to have a wheel repair company "bend it" back into round?

Get an estimate. I got in an accident and bent one of my wheels, went to a wheel repair shop and they wanted like 50 bucks less then the cost of a replacement wheel. So I'm just going to buy a new one. Not worth the possible risk.

Inexpensive cast wheels like Rotas can be repaired, but they tend to be brittle, so bending them, and bending them back to true can provide a place for cracks to develop in the future. Whereas flow formed wheels or fully forged wheels are more malleable and can be repaired with more predictable future structural results.

I would recommend getting replacements versus repair.
