garygbnj
176k-New throttle body 1 yr ago. The throttle body replacement stopped the intermittent stalliing for a while. Started again after about 8 months. Typically occurs (intermittent) after a long (5-8 minutes) at a more or less continuous speed. As I come to a stop the engine stalls. Starts immediately. Have tried cleaner in the tank (no effect), reset the idle (cold engine, disconnect battery, reconnect and allow to idle to normal operating temp). My mechanic is at a loss as to what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks
Max Capacity
I'm guessing you have never replaced the black o-rings between the intake manifold and the TGV's. When you see the new larger orange one's you'll understand the issue. I see your other threads, are you located close to www.AZPinstalls.com ? Mike has a real shop in NJ may be have him check it out. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. 06silvarubiLGT
vacuum test and watch the needle jump around.. Then plan on compression and leakdown tests.. theres been quite a few threads about this.. Throttle body worked for me for about a year, it actually stalled this morning at a Dunkin Drive Through.. some people have resolved it by cleaning or replacing OCV's.. Im assuming you cleaned the MAF before you reset the idle?
Brian3676
Do u have a light weight flywheel? My lgt did this with the light weight flywheel. Exactly as you describe. Got rid of it for a stock SMFW, has not happened one time since
