9thwonder
Why 215 instead of stock 225 size? I've just always heard that narrower tires are better in the snow. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. That was really my only reasoning

That was really my only reasoning Narrower is better for snow tires. Yes, narrower is better. I understand that. What I don't understand is why you'd want a shorter tire. If you did the "narrower" tire conversion correctly, you should have gone with a 215/55R17. The 215/55R17 has both a narrower tread than the 215/50R17, and is slightly taller than the 225/50R17. Why, I don't know. I wasn't there in the decision making. So, if he went with 215/50/17, he is staying within spec "It's within spec" - SOA "Depth is only shallowness viewed from the side." - Fredism "So, how much did it cost for your car to be undriveable ." - Stephen (very close friend) "You have done so much it would be stupid to go back." - Sunny of Guru Electronics 2018Q50RS | 2015WrxThread | Shrek
