JJr
Mine does the same thing, if I push down where the pillar and dash meet it goes away. Not always though, when it's cold and the road is rough it's there!!

njd
Turn on the windshield defroster for a few minutes and the rattle will go away. Not a long-term fix but it works.
Oregon OBXT
I have a folded felt furniture leg pad between the bottom of the windscreen and the tip of the dash. Weird object I know... but it works. You can find them at Home Depot on the hardware isle, it's what goes under a chair leg to keep it from scuffing the floor. What makes it perfect is that when you fold it in half it exerts a little spring force and dampens the chatter.
Totaled04Rex
Pretty sure I have this rattle as well. Is the vent visible/accessible? I thought it was the dash or a coilover lol pretty annoying

I did mine with a folded up piece of card stock though, still works fine
ochsner1228
The felt/furniture pad fix works well enough if you ask me... But if you want a complete fix (and have a lot of time on your hands), here's the complete fix: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/correct-way-fixing-dash-rattle-take-apart-took-me-9-87104.html

YEP! there is a small "nub" on the dashboard right near where it meets the windshield, near the VIN plaque and it will rub on the glass making a clicking or creaking noise. I tried the pillar, the vent applique near this rattling area, and none of them fixed it. I finally discovered the noise when we did the windshield in there and noticed the worn "nub" on the tip if the dash that was causing the rattle. I trimmed it down while the windshield was out and it fixed the problem. The felt would have worked perfectly!
TheBlackPearl
I'm glad I read this, the only rattle fix I had seen was the complete-take-your-dash-out method. Thanks! Self proclaimed PNW Craiglist find of the day Champion, April 2014.
I Donated Too laff79 Posted January 6, 2013 I Donated Too Share Posted January 6, 2013 take an old valve stem and put a screw inside it. then wedge between windshield and dash.
AutoXlgtDan
I had the same issue, i ended up taking the panels apart and lining the edges with felt tape by 3M. seems to be holding up and that annoying rattle is gone, did the same to my center console lid/arm rest.
