tvh13 Posted May 19, 2009 Share Posted May 19, 2009 My LGT 05 5MT recently started idling rough and stalling at low speed or stopped. I brought it into the local dealer and he said that he tought it was a main bearing. He said that he found metal in the oil and the oil was quite low. A few days before the symptoms I was distracted and shifted into 1st going about 40mph (!). I know that this is bad and I have never done it before and it seems like I might not have a chance to do it again with this engine. The dealer tells me that I have ruined the engine and I need a new one. I wonder what others here think? I am leavning the country in a couple of months and if I can use the car for that long great. The other thought I have is to just sell this car at auction now and get a junker for a couple of months. Thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
