grimbeaver
I've noticed recently i have a clunk sound coming from my front driver's side everytime i hit a bump, regardless of speed. I've jacked up the front and checked it out and noticed a chunk missing out of my LCA: http://i34.tinypic.com/11afxtz.jpg I know this is a known problem so i'm wondering if this is the source of my clunk, or is there a higher probability that its something else? The front passenger side looks like its about to go as well. (I installed JDM Bilsteins and Pinks about a month and a half ago).
ilh
Mine have been like that for 30,000 miles and I have no clunks.
itsme
Check your endlinks. That is what caused mine to make noise. You will need a hex key and box or open end wrench to tighten it. I replaced that bushing with a poly one over a year ago. G.T.Subie
I've had clunks forever replaced both the parts you show and still have clunks. Although I ent withe AVO bushings up front and I think it helped a little,or it's just a placebo I believe it is something in the steering rack. When I go over bumps and I'm turning it's the worst and I can feel it in the steering wheel. Denial is your best friend

And should i just replace the LCA bushings with those Superpro or AVO ones anyways too?

The LCA poly bushing stiffen ups the steering and greatly reduces the wandering on the highway and having to correct in turns. grimbeaver
i'm getting mixed numbers... http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61688&highlight=front+sway+bar+size and The PERRIN Performance™ front adjustable sway bar increases size from the stock 19mm to a 22mm (7/8") bar. PERRIN™ has added the flexibility of changing the bars leverage with multiple end link attachment points at the bar ends. so im confused... apexjapan
21mm. That's the bushing size that fits the front. The stock steering rack bushing may have gone a bit loose, that'd contribute to some thunks. grimbeaver
Ok this might be a stupid question, but let me try to get this straight. Is 21mm for the bushing same as the actual sway diameter? I'm just asking because the energy bushings go by the actual sway diameter size to pick the correct part.
apexjapan
I'm not sure, the OEM front stabilizer bar may be something like 20.5mm, but our inner diameter 21mm polyurethane stabilizer bar bushing fits nice and snug.
