Boss-Hogg
Hi all, UK model 2007 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5 Dual Fuel LPG/Petrol Auto SE with SAT NAV etc all original fitted Subaru spec including LPG Gas system also fitted by Subaru. Problem is (SECURITY) flashing on the Radio head unit (Kenwood) model GX-204RE (see attached photo) its an original Subaru fitted unit. It does play for about 30 minutes then goes dead except for 'security' on screen. If you disconnect plug from the back it will switch on again for about 30 minutes but still displays security with flashing F left top corner of display in FM radio mode or C of CD if cd selected. Unit was removed with combined air con controls to do some work on the car. Unit was unplugged (car battery disconnected for 3-4 days) completely removed from car. Now all fitted back in plugs wiring checked, fuses checked ect, but Not working. Display saying security! Subaru gave me a generic code that should work on all these head units 7602. Can’t work out how you put the code in? Also No Sat Nav, screen is blank just black, does not come on and the heater air conditioning controls are not working? All plugs are in and A/C system has been serviced re-gassed today. Cant seem to find any auto electrician's, Car Repair Garages, mechanics, radio technicians, audio system dealers or 'Subaru Specialists' that can deal with this and Subaru Main Dealer cant get it in for a month to look at it either. Thanks for reading this and hope one of you can help.
Golf4283
No Guarantees that this will work, but worth a try, Once activated this will prevent anybody from using the stereo if the power is disconnected. To Activate: 1 Enter Standby (press the SRC button) 2 Enter menu mode Press the menu button for at least one second. When "Menu" is Displayed, "Security" is displayed. 3 Enter security code mode press the << or >> button for at least one second. When "enter" is displayed, "code" is displayed. 4 Select the digits to enter Press the << or >> button. 5 Select the Security Code Numbers Press the FM or AM button. 6 Repeat steps 4 and 5, and complete the security code 7 Confirm the security code Press the >> button for at least 3 seconds. When "re-enter" is displayed, "code" is displayed. 8 Do the steps 4 through 7 operation, and re-enter the security code. "approved" is displayed The security code function activates. If the battery is disconnected you need to do steps 4 - 7 to activate the stereo.
