GetAwayDriver
I'm cleaning my filter right now using the kit supplied by Perrin off the Perrin website. My question is for anyone who has the Perrin filter and has cleaned it. I know that the oil on the filter is a debatable issue, and I was entertaining the idea of not oiling my filter after it dries. Is the oil a requirement for the Perrin filter since it is foam and not the woven material, ala AvoTurboWorld's filter? Has anyone ran a Perrin filter unoiled? Sounds trivial but I was just wondering. Thanks.
automaticsti
I would oil it......the oil is pretty much a pre-filter...it grabs dirt paticles before they can move any farther into the filter.. Not to say you cant oil it...but you have less chances of getting dirt or such items in your engine.
