touch up paint

Recommended Posts

I got my first paint chip - #%)*^%#^%$&!-ing %#@^#hole trucks!!!!

Went to the dealer. They said, "I could sell you the touch-up paint, but it won't look good, and it will make it more noticable. Better to go to a body shop and have them match the paint."

WTF - is this.

My lovely chip is on the hood, it is about 1.5 mm in diameter and goes to the primer.

Is the above statement true - if so than why does the dealer sell touch-up paint?

They only say that because they don't know how to touch up paint and they think its some sort of huge freakin mystery. Its not all that hard to do properly. You can just use a toothpick and fill the chip with the paint and it will be less noticiable. If you want to do it right then you should get a Langka kit and use that. It basically just levels off the blob and helps the paint blend in better. As long as you get the paint from the dealership then it should still be the same color and you won't have a problem. Chips blend in fairly well. Scratches are a bit harder, but still doable with the Langka kit. www.premiumautocare.com sells Langka last time I checked. There is a bit of a learning curve to it, but it really does do a good job in helping make touch up jobs look more professional.

Bought a small bottle of touch-up paint for RBP at my local dealer for $8. Had to order it but it arrived in 3 days. The lid has a little brush built in. Worked pretty well, actually. Covered up lots of paint chips from road rocks.

i got a bottle of the SWP for chips in my hood...mine doesnt work to well because the chips went down to the metal/primer, so touching it up with the White pearl doensn't really cover much, you can still seen underneath it...

Silver.

A town that slides down hills together, stays together.

Actually, technically... it does not stay together.

Post Mortem me when you get it.

I assume I need the Touch-up paint before hand?

Are you silver?
