Salsa91
Was driving to work this morning and the AT oil temp light came on and kept blinking. What exactly is it? I thought maybe it means auto trans temp got hot so I drove it easy to work and tranny fluid is at normal level. TIA
monkeyposeur
You could be throwing a TCU code. You can have the codes pulled for free at most parts stores. edit: Here is a thread that details how to pull the code your self: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/113278-how-to-read-transmission-codes/#entry952067 I know you can pull the codes easily on a first gen yourself, but I have never done it on a second gen. So I can't vouch for the above thread.
travgag
Well depending on how old the car is and how many miles it has, i had the same problem, but when it would warm up it if would shut off, turned out the wire for the temp sensor was worn through inside the transmission, heres the thread i had made http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/transmission-temp-light-flickering-fix-214166.html?t=214166
Salsa91
So that light is for the tranny temp huh? Is that sensor just telling me the fluid got warm or does it send a signal to something else?
monkeyposeur
The AT temp light is a CEL for your transmission. Read this: http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/trans.html
Salsa91
Great link! So is there an actual manual push button?
