Plagiarism of What did you do to your Subaru today.

Recommended Posts

Being the thread starter of the "What did you do to your Subaru today" thread, I must say that I am appalled that not only was the original title changed, and without my permission, but, the concept was used in other areas of the forum.

If the title was to be used in other areas, that cover different generations, and models of the Subaru brand, the original title should have been used, and credit given for the said additional threads should have been given to the original author.

After all, the original title was "What did you do to your SUBARU today" The title was not, what did you do to your 2ND generation Subaru, nor was it, What did you do to your Legacy. It was," What did you do to your Subaru today", and if I'm not mistaken, that title covers every Subaru ever built!

Please correct this obvious act of title infringement, and blatant plagiarism, and give credit where credit is due.

Thanks for correcting the error.

Actually...

When you post something on an internet forum, you give the mods / admins the right to edit it, move it, delete it, or use it as fit.

Did you not read the user agreement when you registered on this forum? Or any other forum for that matter?

Its the internet. You can't copyright a question. Its a simple question. If someone else in another area wants to ask what someone did to their Subaru today, they have EVERY RIGHT to.

I suspect nothing will be done except this thread will either get closed or deleted...and the "what did you do to your second gen today" thread will stay just how it is.

If I'm coming off as an asshole, I do apologize because thats not my intention. I'm just being blunt and to the point. No need to beat around the bush.

And take a look at the quotes below. You have been an active member in discussions in the thread in both the second gen and the fourth gen forums. Want proof - keep reading. Why are you whining about this now??

Hmmm...don't recall inviting the 3rd gen in. Are they Subaru's? I had a hard time inviting 2nd gen in on the fun. I'm still an old dual range GL kind of guy! You know... FWD until its locked in + THE LOW RANGE! . Now those were Subaru's !!!

Climbing the ski hills was no lie. Been there done that. Snowmobile trails, piece of cake! Try that with one of the new... so called Subaru's ! Yeah, city slickers is all they are today. IMO!

Me too, but then again, I get them rotated everytime I move it.

I can't place the year and model of that Subaru on the right. I know I've seen it before. In fact, I think I still have one kinda like it. Let me check in the back of the garage and see if I can find it.

Windows retinted, changed the fuel filter.

People still use CB radios? Thought they went out in the 80's,except for truckers of course.

With all that out in the open : lets take a look at what plagiarism is.

Plagiarism on the Internet

Content scraping is copying and pasting from websites and blogs.

Free online tools are becoming available to help identify plagiarism, and there is a range of approaches that attempt to limit online copying, such as disabling right clicking and placing warning banners regarding copyrights on web pages. Instances of plagiarism that involve copyright violation may be addressed by the rightful content owners sending a DMCA removal notice to the offending site-owner, or to the ISP that is hosting the offending site.

Detecting plagiarism even by detection tools can still be difficult, as plagiarism is often held to not only be the mere copying of text, but also the presentation of another's ideas as one's own, regardless of the specific words or constructs used to express that idea. However, many so-called plagiarism detection services can only detect blatant word-for-word copies of text.

I suggest that if you feel you have been plagiarized, you talk with an admin of this site. Tide is the owner so you can contact him. If you're not happy with the result, feel free to send a DCMA notice to the hosting company.

Now before you go through the trouble of doing that, let me tell you what the outcome will be :

1 - legacygt.com will likely ignore you....or tell you to get over it (but in a much nicer way)

2 - Hosting company will ignore your request. They are legally obligated to investigate it, however this situation does not fall under the realm of DCMAs.

Somebody else asked the same question you did. There is NOTHING wrong with that.

And on the subject of the thread title being changed, you posted this in the Second Generation forum...Its existence in this forum tells everyone that its directed towards second gens, therefor a mod / admin changed the title to fit better in this section. If you wanted it directed towards Subarus in general, you would have posted it in a section like General Chat or something.

So let me ask you this : Am I able to write a thread with the title of "How to change brake pads."? There is a website called ehow.com that has a how to article for nearly everything....and they are all titled "how to.....". If I were to make this thread, would it be infringement?

Here is some food for though....the agreement you agreed to when you registered on these forums.
