TSiWRX
When I'm in there to clear the amber I've heard a little about filling a hole to make the cutoff more crisp, can anyone go into more detail than this? Unfortunately, I'm a bad candidate to answer this, as I haven't done a "half retro" just yet. Look at the various HID threads, they'll have more info. on exactly where and what this will help with, in terms of p-n-p HID installs. When putting everything back together was there anything specific you all did to ensure no leaks (silicon, right? what kind?) If you didn't use a Dremel or other such tool to modify any part of your headlight, and it hasn't sat out, for, like, more than a few hours, then it's likely that you'll accrue enough dust/misc. particles in the factory sealant to warrant much worry. I've now heated and re-heated my headlamps *three* times, each to tackle a different project, and I've yet to need to add more sealant, and I also have not seen (it's now been more than 2 years) any fogging/condensation/leaks, despite my car being a true "daily driver." However, just to be sure, you can use a bit of black silicone RTV sealant. I'm sure that others here will have yet more (and likely better) suggestions of exactly what sealant to use, too. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

Prime Power
I just did it this morning. Great instructions. The 07's have screws instead of the torx bit on the inside. I used the actual torx bit to get the outside ones. I don't feel so good about that bumper after taking it off. I am real impressed with this mod, it compliments my theme well. I baked them @ 200 for 15 min. Now just to take care of the tails. I used the sylvania silverstars that look silver, rainbowish and light up amber. It looks better lit up too. Great stuff. skierpunk
Forgive me if I'm asking something that has already been discussed but I didn't have time to read through all 35 pages. Anyway, does it matter what type of waterproof silicone we use? Due to the heat output of the lights, I was wonder if it has to be something that can withstand heat without compromising its seal. DocHolladay23
Well I didn't use any silicone, there was plenty on there from the factory so I just reheated and pushed them back together. A lot of people did that, some put extra silicone on there just to be safe though. I did mine about 3 or so months ago and I haven't had any condensation. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] You want stickers? Pawlwawl06
Wow this was a PIAA. I never want to see another pop-it again for the rest of my life. There are still two that I have no idea where to put, but my bumper is secure, thats all that matters. I love the look though, now I want to find the clear turn signals that blink amber. Anyone know where I can find these?

I thought it was worth the PIAA, but if you ever have to do it again it's a piece of cake to do over.

Mitch
Did you just clear the amber? or did you black out the headlights too? I'd love to see pics. If I'm going faster than you, Move Right.

I think blacked out lights would look terrible with the Regal Blue Pearl. I will take some pics tomorrow. I was short on time today. I didn't think I was going to make it to work today...with a bumber anyways Plus I need to wash all of the sweat off it.

Pawlwawl06
So has anyone had any trouble with the cops recently with this mod? I doubt the Legacy gets much attention anyways, but as far as state inspections go, will this cause problems?
