godwhomismike
spt intake and spt exhaust - both are backed and fully warrantied by Subaru. .
wukindada
The new SPT exhaust is pretty nice but the intake....... I had no issues with my warranty while I had a larger turbo on the car. Has everything to do with how mod friendly your dealer is;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
godwhomismike
The new SPT exhaust is pretty nice but the intake....... The SPT Intake sounds horrendous. I should've waited and sprung for the exhaust instead. .
wukindada
Sound is not the only thing that is horrendous......take a few logs with that intake:eek: Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
godwhomismike
Sound is not the only thing that is horrendous......take a few logs with that intake:eek: I own it. Sometimes I get a swift kick of power and other times I hear it sucking real hard gasping for air, but she can't find the strength to get out of her own way. . wukindada
Take some logs.......you will know why afterword;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
godwhomismike
The only thing I like about it, is the turbo sound. You can really hear the turbo loud and clear - the turbo becomes so audible - you'd think you were driving a big rig. ./
godwhomismike
Take some logs.......you will know why afterword;) The dealership had some concerns about it, but couldn't say anything because it's an official Subaru part. .
godwhomismike
If in the case I am offered a very aggressive trade-in to go with a newer Subaru, I would go with the '08 and have the Megan Racing exhaust installed at the time of purchase, along with a good set of 225/45/17 all-season tires. Those where the two things I wish I had done with my Legacy, but won't do it now, as I have less than 1 year left with my current Legacy. . wukindada
Get a 08 Shrek B & have the SPT catback installed @ the time of purchase. Even though the Megan is a nice piece, the "dealership" will not install it;) Toyota 6EATS .........SUCK!!!!!!
AKLGT
i look at the quality of products vs the $$$. i want the best bang for my buck, but i will have to say the quality of the SPT exhaust (not having seen the MR one but comparing to the MR DP i have) is by far much more superior. my tech is throwing away the new MR DP i just got... i thought it was fine, but he insists it needs replacing (with his own custom handy work). not sure if it's just him wanting to play with his welder or if he does in fact feel the MR DP is somehow inadequate. the SPT intake is noisy and somewhat annoying. i would get rid of it, but the car is tuned for it and i don't want to throw anything off. I think if i cut out the piece from the heatshield to put the snorkus back on, i should see a little better air flow (not hot air from the engine). Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!!! Carter
Subaru no longer warranty's SPT parts. SPT parts do not void your car warranty, but the parts themselves no longer have a warranty.
ScoopMan
Do other intakes void the warrantee? The AEM has a very good reputation.
mark greenstein
What is a catback?
06Limited
What is a catback? It is the exhaust system that goes from the catalytic converter back to the mufflers. Essentially the spt system replaces all of this.
godwhomismike
I doubt they'll complain about a catback exhaust from other vendors. .
ScoopMan
Pretty positive catbacks are warantee friendly regardless of maker. I am not sure about intakes tho... Mike your new avatar KILLS me. WTF!
mark greenstein
so if i replace the intake I get how much horsepower and how much more with the exhaust? From what I'm reading the intake cause a lot more noise on the car-right?
AKLGT
the dealer service dept cannot void your warranty. they can only deny warranty claims if the modification you made caused failure to another part. this is the most common misconception they dealers like to give. if you have an educated and business savvy dealer service/parts dept, they will know this. luckily, i have one. in fact, i'll be picking up a few cobb, tein, and sparco parts today for the cars. AKLGT
so if i replace the intake I get how much horsepower and how much more with the exhaust? From what I'm reading the intake cause a lot more noise on the car-right? don't waste your money on an intake. it will not do much for the car until you go larger turbo and can tune for it. it just makes noise. godwhomismike
intake = noise maker no power gains. .
ScoopMan
AVO drop in FTW! No issues.... only a little noise. Power gains? Maybe, maybe not, but can't hurt, and you need to replace your OEM filter sooner or later anyway. Takes 5 minutes to put in (if that)
