TehRicer
Where to purchase 05' LGT OEM Grill online? None of these "Authentic OEM Subaru Parts Websites" carry them. -Are you fvcking kidding me:spin: Grills are one of those most sought after "oem" parts cuz they get wear out so easily. http://www.fredbeansparts.com/oem-2005-2007-subaru-legacy-gt-grille-emblem.html ^So you carry a grill emblem, but no grill. https://www.subaruonlineparts.com/index.php?cPath=31_101_102&osCsid=83dbae5fd99c8671f185bdadc792939d ^No grill here. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/2005-Subaru-Legacy-GT-2.5L_Aftermarket-Grill ^No grill here. Wait, Here are two websites: http://www.subarupartsdepartment.com/parts/2005/SUBARU/LEGACY/?siteid=215189&vehicleid=1430733§ion=BODY%20HARDWARE&group=GRILLE ^$140 for an OEM grill. Sounds about right. http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/AC/18220-04015983.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ff&utm_content=AYY&utm_campaign=PartsGeek+Google+Base&utm_term=2005-2007+Subaru+Legacy+Grille+Assembly+Action+Crash+SU1200129+05-07+Subaru+Grille+Assembly+2006&fp=pp&gbm=a&gclid=CPb-zq7y9rICFao7MgodThEAzg ^$70 for a grill. Hm, half the price. Common logic is telling me to purchase the cheaper one. But wait, I thought I came across a tread that stated to not buy one of these grills from parts geek. Why? Because the "faux chrome" wasn't even chrome. It was like stupid el cheapo spray paint from the dollar store. I'm shooting for this btw: Plasti Dipped the "outer" chrome & left the wings chrome. Great job. ^Whomeverssssssss grill this is. Bravo. That looks better than OEM.

TehRicer
^ I know, but I want a MINT grill. There's one in there, but every single one of them either is broken/cracked or the chrome is peeling. I absolutely need a mint grill Anyone ordered a grill from parts geek? Was it even chrome? You can't tell from the pic they provide you. It's one big pixel.

It'll also help others find an OEM grill. Please let this thread be somewhat useful before you destroy it. Thanks

dingbang
rock auto has the 70 dollar grille as well...if you're covering it in plasti-dip, does it matter if the chrome is painted or not? If you're worried about the chrome on the wings...I'd probably just clear coat it with a few layers and call it a day. I redid my grille and cut out all the interior wing bits, sanded down the little 'lip' that goes from the edge to the chrome 'ring' and also bondo'd it to make it flat and level (that lip was driving me insane). TehRicer
^I'll be ordering tonight if all goes well! Clear coat sounds ghetto. If anyone has a grill from partsgeek, feel free to chime in on the finish. Perhaps it's just silver paint? I'll be ordering the 130 grill. Thanks! TehRicer
any pics of your original worn out grille? unless you wanted to mount a charbroil 3-tier to your front bumper. Took it off during rebuild. It was already cracked so I tossed it. I was going to duplicate one w/ an extruder, but wasn't sure how I'd get the chrome finish. I'm sure I could have done some more research, but meh' ABS plastic, styrene sheets, lots of time, OEM tabs ....for $100, I could just buy one that's complete.
