exsterminator
My 2 young kids ride in the back in their car seats and although my O9 OB XT has tinted rear windows, the sun is pretty damn harsh in their eyes. Anyone have any well-fitting sunshades they use in the rear? I want to avoid the budget Wallyworld or Target ones and actually get some that look like they may have come with the car. Or if not sunshades, any other solutions? Thanks,

youseelabruin
Are you talking about the rear window or rear passenger windows? I used to use this in the rear window of my black on black Jetta, but I didn't let it hang down. It was flat against the window with the bottom suction cups. Didn't look bad and it did the job. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51HotADK80L._AA280_.jpg [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005BX56/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=304485901&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001J9IYDG&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=059G8PE2PBW5AZ1D4VEY]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005BX56/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=304485901&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001J9IYDG&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=059G8PE2PBW5AZ1D4VEY[/ame] And I use one of these for the side windows. Yes, you've seen them before, but they work. I've tried the other stuff like stick on tint, stick on perforated screen and suction cup spring up shades but they are all messy looking. This one does the job and when not it use rolls up nicely for storage. I've got an non-tinted Legacy sedan and I'm not a fan of tint.
exsterminator
Thanks for the reply. It is the rear passenger window ones I am after. I saw the ones you linked but was wondering whether there was something a little more OEM, something shaped specifically to the shape of the rear windows that was available. My wife has an X5 with the rear shades built in and you can get OEM ones for the rear quarter panels in the trunk but am struggling to find anything for the Subie. youseelabruin
I hear you. Something like this? We'll need a group buy though if we source it from China. 500 piece minimum on this item. I'm in. 1. youseelabruin . . . 500. exsterminator http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2f0j00ueBQvdUGvEVRM/Car-Automatic-Sunshade.jpg http://goldtody2006.en.made-in-china.com/product/ReoQqdtGqEIT/China-Car-Automatic-Sunshade.html
exsterminator
More like this but for the actual rear passenger window than rear quarter in the trunk http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/interior/9528-rear-sun-shades-bmw-x5.html

youseelabruin
Nevermind. I read you don't want anything budget, but more oem looking.

exsterminator
Dark tint baby. It's the way to go. My car came with window tint but that doesn't stop glare from getting in the kids eyes and it getting damn hot. Thanks for the comment but really need some good-looking and functional shades, as OEM looking as possible (if there was an OEM something available that is!) Gire
Really? 5-20% tint has worked wonders for both my infants over the years. In various cars. Dark tint will keep the heat down too.
Imrac
+1 on window tint, 20% is pretty dang good and will *usually* keep the cops at bay. A buddy of mine has a car with similiar color to mine w/o tint and we compared, mine was by far much cooler after an 8 hour shift. You can always go to local auto shop and buy some 5 dollar tint and do a half-asked job on it to test how you like it.
