Pawlwawl06
Anyone tried removing the chrome insert where the stock rocker panel trim should be? It is starting to get annoying.
Long Island Legacy
Wanna trade for non chrome ones?
Pawlwawl06
Dealership said I couldn't get them off. They are part of the car. That makes no sense, why would they be built onto the body of the car.
WhatV8
Dealership is an a**hole, tell the folks that told you that to go back outside and have another smoke. The chrome accented rocker panels are/were usually a dealer installed option, not a factory one from some conversations I had. They can be removed and replaced with the 'standard' versions in a short amount of time. I am sure you can find someone locally that would trade you for a set of non-chrome panels. I would think that you could still get replacement ones too, not cheap, but an option.

They wouldn't install my aftermarket spoiler either, I think they just don't want to be responsible for screwing up my car.
WhatV8
Sounds like they just want to be in the warranty/oil change business and don't want to fiddle with anything aftermarket or out of the norm. Too bad.
Pawlwawl06
Yeah, I don't know though. I feel like I will regret taking them off the second after I remove them.
Gmoe
I'm in the same boat as you. Can't decide to swap them or not. Some days I love the trim, others not so much. They can definitely be changed though. That dealer sucks...

Mitch
Pawl, How far to Perry Subaru for you. They're the best here in HR. Too bad you're not coming to the Perry meet on the 8th. Hopefully we'll see you around some other time. If I'm going faster than you, Move Right.
Pawlwawl06
I live out in Smithfield, which is a bit of a drive. I will check them out though. What time will the meet start? I might be able to ride out there for a bit.

psi365
I was kinda wondering about removinig just the chrome strip myself. I am not planning or wanting to get rid of them. I basically want to get them sent out and black chromed. I want to get most of the emblems, and grille done that way. So I just wonder what it'll take to remove them. psi365
Well since I have the dark grey rims, and tinted windows I might as well. I may have the guts, but not the brains.
PeterJMC
Anyone ever find out if you can remove the chrome trim from the rocker panel? I want to get it painted hyper black or black chrome the same time I get my wheels done. **EDIT** Nevermind, I found my answer here. http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=988621&postcount=
