Legacy2.5R
hey guys. my buddy with a 06 WRX was getting rid of his AEM cold air intake today. well i took advantage of it and used some of his piping to fandangel a cold air intake. i've driven the car about 50 miles so far and no CELs yet. im testing it all week. i used the part of his CAI that housed the MAF sensor, and connected it to my existing ebay custom intake that most of us have already. i had to cut the ebay one to make room however. (which is cool, if this ends up throwing a CEL, ill just buy another 9$ intake). the last peice is the pipe that goes down into the lower bumper area. i happened to have some piping that was hacked off of a CAI for a '91 dodge stealth. yes, a '91 dodge stealth. but you can use anything that has the right shape. and now to the pictures: http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o51/forwallblakmail/040507_19251.jpg what remains of hacked Ebay intake pipe. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o51/forwallblakmail/040507_19252.jpg AEM WRX CAI pipe with MAF housing. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o51/forwallblakmail/040507_19253.jpg "Dodge Stealth" hacked CAI pipe with AEM DryFlow filter. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o51/forwallblakmail/040507_19501.jpg The whole contraption. sorry for the crappy quality, i used my cell phone. like i said before, no CELs yet, im hopeing its due to slightly smaller pipe size and the large distance between the filter and MAF sensor. ill keep this updated and let you all know if i get a CEL. oh yeah....my god does this sound good, but it makes such a difference. rigth after 3000RPMs the engine goes bizerk and revs faster and faster. i hope this stays' CEL free. anyone who has tried something like this before, how long did it take before you threw a CEL??? Jackie
How does it go now? Haven’t you had any trouble with it? I’m planning to have modifications with my Subaru Cold Air Intake so I’m putting on some of my time in researching about the situations that I might get into. It’s good to be cautious in taking a risk.
