lingling1337
Hey guys, my girlfriend always does something creative for my birthday and this year I've asked her to paint the plastic in my engine bay. So, does anyone know what type of paint and clear coat works well for this? Would I want something heat resistant like VHT clear?
lockmedic
If it's ever been armor-all'd, you'll need to thoroughly clean it before attempting to paint it. Paint no likey silicone. You don't need high temp paint for that. . . doubtful that ever sees temps over 200 degrees, which is fine for most paints. Are you wanting to change the color of it, or just get it nice and shiny black again? If the latter, I'd recommend PlastKote bumper paint. It is awesome. lingling1337
We're going to paint it new colors, maybe using acrylic paint. I'll have to look and see what temp her paints are safe to.
