ama0787 Posted February 27, 2010 Share Posted February 27, 2010 When installing these on the front of the legacy do you only use one shim leaving the vented shim off the car? It didnt seem like there was room for the outer shim to clip on to the pad when the inner shim was used. Also the hawk pad seems to almost have a built in shim on it compared to the stock which is flat. Any input would be great. TIA, anthony Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Xenonk Posted February 27, 2010 Share Posted February 27, 2010 the shims for the most part are really NOT too neccessary to have.. they are there for anti-squealing and heat transfer purposes.. on my car I dont even bother running them.. although it's nice to use them in case you over heat your brakes (which I highly doubt since you would experience fade way before the backing plate starts to fuse with the caliper itself).
