06legacyLTD
Checkout my install. It has a tinge of blue which i don't like, but since i went through the effort already, i'll have to live with it. I also installed the relay harness. Also, I don't think there is a need to go 55W as 35W is plenty bright. Hugh improvement from the stocks!!!
lamw001
That looks great and thanks for the effort on posting up pictures. Do you mind taking a couple more pictures to show beams on the wall? Thanks.
Onthewagon
I don't suppose you took any pictures with the stock lights before you started? I would love to see a side-by-side comparison of the two.

06legacyLTD
How much did this kit set you back if you don't mind me asking? Bought directly from DDMTuning for $97 shipped. That included the $20 relay harness.

SKYravefever
Could you also check to see if you can perform the following: - start the car w/o the lights on and turn them on - turn the lights off - can they be turned on again? In another DDM thread, the member was not able to http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2594423&postcount=844 Here's another thread that outlines similar behavior: http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2549504&postcount=
FASTONE
I had a 55w and I HAD to lower the headlights to not get flashes from other people, and i had more light on the road then s2000 or my friends E320.

I tried the procedure that you asked. Also, the one in the first thread several times. The lights come on every time, no problems. My guess is that the relay harness is doing its job. 06legacyLTD
Those are nice but my 55W def put out more visible light...Why did you need a relay harness? Alot of people have reported that only one bulb came ON if they started the car with lights already ON. This happens if you don't have the relay harness. With the relay harness installed, both lights should come on every time.
adidasoutback
ah ha, I am assuming this doesnt pertain to 08's since our lowbeam is the highbeams?
Perrin713
I just installed the same kit about a month ago. I'm very happy with the brightness. No need for me to go to 55w. I also installed some 3000k Fog lights. If I have time I will snap a pic of the setup.

ebpda9
not bad. I had a no name brand set of 5000k hids in mine and the light out put sucked. Switched to a phillips 4300k and it's getting better, but they don't seem to be any better than the stockers
06legacyLTD
So Its been two months since the install. NO Flickers!!! Both HIDs come ON everytime. Started the car with HIDs ON many times and still no problems. Woohoo
06legacyLTD
Its been close to 2 1/2 years since i installed the kit. the lights are still going strong. The ballasts work just fine. The only exception is that even with the relay harness, if i now start the car with lights already on, one of the bulbs usually does not turn on. blaze741
^ that may be a bulb issue. HID bulbs are very sensitive. It is a bad thing to turn them on when still hot. And over time the bulb just wears, like anything else. I had my bulbs for about 3 years, before I replaced them. If you pull the bulb, you'll notice a little bit of deposit on the center where gas ignites. This is just the deposits leftover which cause the bulbs to use more energy to fire, compared to if they were new, thus you need to turn off and turn on again. I replaced my bulbs to Morimoto 3Five 4300k bulbs and back to zero problems. These bulbs are a true 4300k so the blue hint you didn't like is gone. I have a feeling the 4500k DDM bulbs are closer to 5000k due to that blueness. My new bulbs are a true white. More output as well, so I lowered my beams a little. nwsurfwakeskate
I have a DDM slim ballast kit on my 05 RBP GT wagon. initially the left side wouldn't always ignite on the first try but I've been running them now for a good 6 months and they ignite every time now. Its actually kinda funny even when they did give me issues I always seemed to have the best luck if I left the headlight switch on so the lights would ignite before starting the car. I also changed my battery in that time period but neglected to see if that had an effect on the igniting issue. might have been the battery that fixed it. really great kits and reasonably priced. no flickering either. I got the 4500k kit and they look proper not too much blue or green like the cheapo kits. maybe slightly more green then a true high dollar OEM HID system. The only exception is that even with the relay harness, if i now start the car with lights already on, one of the bulbs usually does not turn on. This is the problem I had with my DDM slims (no harness) for the ~3+ years I ran them, from which I developed a habit of double-firing them every time. I'm running the 55w Raptor kit now without the harness and they've been coming on first-fire every time so far. Also running Morimoto 3Five 4300k bulbs instead of the DDMs which are most likely 5000k anyway. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/morimoto-3five-bulbs-vs-ddm-raptor-bulbs-180489.html 2006 SWP 3.0R 5EAT VDC BBQ 2008 OBP 2.5i 4EAT BBQ [RIP]
