nrmustang
Not too long ago, my wife and I sold our '05 LGT, and after buying a G8, I think she misses her LGT. So we are looking for either an '08 or '09 (preferably) LGT. Is the auto trans performance/shifts better in the newer years? Or is it the same? I remember reading that the transmissions themselves changed, but performance?
nrmustang
Dang it! I just noticed I forgot an 'r" in "transmission" in the title. Long day...
blongo804
As far as i've read, it doesn't seem, performance wise, the transmission ever really gained anything. One ability the 08-09's have over the 05-07 5EAT's is their ability to rev-match shifts. Otherwise, 05-07 are the only models our fellow member ClimberD has so far successfully made a valve body mod for to allow for more "performance" shifts. Hope this helps! RabidWombat
Rev matched downshifts are very nice, the downshift is basically completely seamless.
Moderators BarManBean Posted September 16, 2012 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2012 I would venture a guess that VB mod from Climber D > revmatched downshifts.
