HarryD
I bought my '05 LGT in Sept. of '04 and have loved it. It has only seen the dealer service department for factory recalls, and has always been a lot of fun to drive and super reliable. As I have had this car for almost 11 years and 119,000 miles, I was thinking about a replacement SUBARU. I haven't been too crazy about the new larger Legacys, so I looked seriously into the WRX, which I have had a fondness for since before they were brought into the USA ( I actually had an '04 WRX for a very short while before the LGT, but that is a long story). The updated WRX starting in '15 has been very impressive, and enhances most everything that I love about the LGT. I bought a premium mainly for the cold weather package (I would have chosen to not have a moon roof if I was able). I ordered this car and the only options added were the upgraded speakers and tweeters installed at the port, which I would HIGHLY recommend. The ones supplied as original are dismal at best. Now to continue the 1000 miles of break-in... Here are the "Family Photos" at delivery time:
Max Capacity
One question, How did you get a 2006 LGT in Sept 04 ? I bought my 2005 wagon late June 2004. Oh, nice WRX. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. MTBwrench
I'm also eyeing down a red '16 WRX Limited too... I love my wagon, I'll probably keep the damn money pit forever, but the idea of having a NEW money pit that comes with a warranty (and a 6MT) is very appealing. I'm glad it didn't disappoint you! I've read a lot of things that say engine wise, the FA20 may actually be a better deal than the STi, namely the FA20 has a much wider torqe band. #twinscroll MTBwrench's Stage 3 5EAT #racewagon 266awhp/255awtq @17.5psi, Tuned By Graham of Boosted Performance Everyone knows what I taste like. MNRZR
Ha! I read the title as '05 LGT (greater than) '16 WRX. Congrats on the new ride!
covertrussian
Beautiful cars man (both of them), finally non ugly wheels too! With the release of 2015 WRX's I've highly considered too, especially since they have better gas mileage out of the box, fast, great looking, pretty awesome stock stereo deck (able to read USB drives with MP3's on them). How does the ride comfort compare to the Legacy? I still like my LGT interior over my buddy's 2015 WRX base (all cloth). I would have to get the top model for electric seats, sun roof, and leather to be happy nowdays . 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

I3eXa
Ha! I read the title as '05 LGT (greater than) '16 WRX. Congrats on the new ride! same here and since I can't afford a new '16 wrx or leggy I stand firm that a 2005 LGT IS better(greater) than a 2016 wrx
HarryD
covertrussian, The new WRX does ride a bit firmer than my LGT, and I had a non-limited, so I am comparing cloth to cloth seats. I am really liking the new interior. There are a few things that I do miss, however, such as the button for bringing the interior lights back to full bright when the headlights are turned on. Also, the LGT had a separate switch for the windshield wiper heater strip and heated mirrors. On the WRX they all turn on with the rear window defroster. I am really liking the new interior. I could see how firm the suspension was driving behind the 15wrx on the highway, it would bounce a good bit . Agreed on cloths, though I was still impressed with the cloths on the legacy, I would rock them on a daily (though they are kind of ugly). There are a few things that I do miss, however, such as the button for bringing the interior lights back to full bright when the headlights are turned on. I love this feature too, sadly they actually did away with it in 06+ Legacy's too though. I use it all of the time in the morning and at dawn when sun makes it impossible to see the gauges. Also, the LGT had a separate switch for the windshield wiper heater strip and heated mirrors. On the WRX they all turn on with the rear window defroster. That's kind of annoying, but I guess it does make sense, usually you would fire them up both at the same time. It's more annoying for logging purposes where you use the defogger switch to start the logs. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
turboboost
I'm holding off until they carry over the FA into the STI, but I did take a ride in another forum member's '15 WRX and agree that Subaru's done a great job with the new redesign. Still a bit boaty, but it's fast, fairly balanced, and well-equipped right out of the factory, and that FA has a lot of potential.
MTBwrench
It's the twin scroll setup we should've gotten here in the states a long time ago.
