F22-raptor
When it is cold out, the car makes noise when I start it up kind of like a whooshing air sound. Yesterday on the way home, I felt a snap like a tense belt broke. I found nothing leaking, no belts actually broken. I get no slippage, but then again I am pretty easy on the car. When the car warms up, the whooshing sound only happens when I press in the clutch. When first starting up the whooshing sound chages pitch depending on whether the clutch is pressed in or not. Sooooo is it the clutch? The TOB? or something more insidious. The car has 115k on it. I would like to get this taken care of so I can continue putting miles on it. Thanks in advance. ehsnils
Sounds like a bearing starting to give. Probably the TOB, but you can never be completely sure.
