Xander_X
Posted this in the Interior/Audio section as well but I figured I might get more answers in here. So I have an 09 2.5i SE. Regular tan bucket seats, no heat, power driver side. I want to upgrade them to the GT style sport bucket w/ heat. Luckily I have the tan and black interior, so I could honestly go either way in color. I personally like leather, easily to clean, adds that touch of refinement, but I'd almost rather get tan cloth so I won't have to spend money or time replacing the rears. Here's my problem: I can find many seats online using used car part searches but most don't show pictures so I can't tell if it's a a regular bucket or sport bucket. Here's what I have so far: - Base, and SE have cloth/regular seats - Limited hasleather/heated/regular seats - GT has cloth/heated/sport seats - GT Limited has leather/heated/sport seats The 3.0R I'm not really sure on, I've seen pics of them with the regular and pics with the sport. Not sure if this is a trim/YM/region difference. So basically ... unless my findings above are incorrect, would it be safe to say that all CLOTH/HEATED seats would be of the sport bucket type? That way if I see the seat labeled that way, I know it's what I'm looking for and all I have to do is find out it's condition.
Leviman
There might be some basic outback models that have non sport heated cloth seats. However outback xts do get the sport seat, at least mine has them.
MrTris
I believe any Subaru seat will fit, as they're pretty much all the same, however, there's that side airbag business, though. WRX seats are fairly plentiful -- any interest in those?
Merc6
Can't tell you about that year but 05 was a PITA as the seat connectors change for passenger in 06. 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)

I don't have trouble locating the Legacy seats, I mean they're out there, but w/o pictures in most junk yard searches, it's difficult to narrow the search w/o having them go and take pics of ALL of their seats and email them to me. I'd rather just know that if I find a combination in the written description, such as Cloth/HTD/PW/BLK, I know that the only trim that came with cloth, heated seats (in a Legacy) was a GT. Just trying to figure these specifics out for simplicity in the long run. Especially because I have to drive to the PA to get them as NY will not allow the sale of them used. Can't tell you about that year but 05 was a PITA as the seat connectors change for passenger in 06. Thanks, that makes sense as there are quite a few differences in the 05. Thanks for saving me some time.
98legwag
08-09 3.0R Limited has leather/heated/sport seats that are 4 way power on the passenger side and I believe 6 or 8 way power on the driver side. 09 3.0R base models should have the same seats as the 2.5i base and SE. The passenger seat seems to be the odd ball with the exception of Shrek having memory seat buttons. 06 the seat belt no longer connects to the seat directly and goes to the B pillar. The passenger seat will give you airbag lights and seat belt chimes until you get the correct wiring for it(some states you fail safety inspection this way). One way is reusing the passenger seat bottom, other way was getting a passenger seat from the same year car(what I ended up doing). I was happy with that route as it went well and nobody has a car like mine interior wise locally. Shrek B center was to high maintenance before kids. Yes, airbag sensors aren't. Xander_X
Merc6, great info to add, thank you! Now you mentioned a couple times the something about the passenger airbag not working correctly with certain seats; is this because certain years did not have the amount of airbags the 09 does? Do you know what years do, or anyone else know? This will also help greatly narrow my search. I really don't feel like messing with switching seat bottoms. I reupholstered the leather on my 99 GT-S myself and I'd really not like to do that again; and those have NO electronics in them.
