Dergara Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 After driving about 250 miles to our vacation in our 05 OBXT 5eat I noticed when we hit bumps there was a knocking noise coming from the left front.(that what it sounds like) It has not gotten worse but make the sound every time you hit a bump, like the strut tower is banging or something. Can't figure this out. Everything underneath looks secure and tight and otherwise the car drives great. Any ideas? P.S. it is not coming from the interior. Underdog Posted July 28, 2009 Share Posted July 28, 2009 Open your hood, look at the driver-side strut tower. You will probably have a small black box that is banging against the shock tower. Mine had worn a small hole right through the paint. A piece of adhesive-backed thin, dense foam should alleviate that.
