twisty
i posted this pic already in another thread, but no one reads my update thread. so, here it is for your opinions, when i disassembled the ej25 with bad HG, i came across this gooey stuff in the water channel on top of the block. it was gel-like, and has dried a bit weirdly as well. anyone have any idea what in the cooling system could have caused this, or whether it may be an additive that could warrant me to break the halves and redo the whole engine? http://i58.tinypic.com/k2es12.jpg
monkeyposeur
Maybe someone added some head gasket stop leak crap?
twisty
thats what i was thinking as well, but it doesnt seem to be throughout the whole block, so im not sure i need to worry about splitting it. ive also never seeen an additive look that color and gelatinous
93ej22
Maybe it started off clear and was dyed green by the coolant? Im not sure what else would be in the ccolant and that thick

twisty
good idea. it seems to have dried pretty loosely, it may just wash right out.
93ej22
if not find someone with a pressure washer and get a good blast at it. I would spend a good bit of time trying other methods before I would split the case
