RailKill
I recently got my hands on a set of the stock GT rims. I would like to purchase a set of All Season tires and was wondering if anyone on here replaced their summers with all seasons and recommends a certain brand. If so, have you used them in the winter yet? I will be using these all year long and my work requires me to be there no matter what the weather conditions. I don't want a set of wheels/tires dedicated just for the winter (probably will next year but right now the funds aren't there, unless someone here is a good talker and could talk my wife into it) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, once my new car comes in, I will be selling the 16" premium wheels and tires w/o TPMS. They will have about 30 miles on them, give or take. If anyone is interested, let me know (I will post them in the for sale section when the time comes) Wheels and Tires are now posted in the FS section
acumenhokie
No experience specific to the Legacy but I've owned several sets of All Seasons. The best I've ever had were the Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons (issue is they are very expensive). Others I'd recommend are the Continental Conti-Extreme Contact. There are also lots of good videos and reports on the Tire Rack site. http://www.tirerack.com/videos/index.jsp?video=71&tab=tires http://www.tirerack.com/videos/index.jsp?video=70&tab=tires http://www.tirerack.com/videos/index.jsp?video=66&tab=tires http://www.tirerack.com/videos/index.jsp?video=61&tab=tires http://www.tirerack.com/videos/index.jsp?video=40&tab=tires http://www.tirerack.com/videos/index.jsp?video=38&tab=tires
CL21376
I ran pirelli p-zero nero A/s tires last winter, they did fine locally and were more than adequate when I was in ne Ohio over Christmas. I've also had good luck with Toyo proxes 4s, but I'd give the nod to the perilli tires.

coppertone
Turbos are over rated, just ask my wife the next time you come to my house. By the way, my dog says woof. Lol 2010 2.5GT limited is for sale.
todd3.6
I've been checking out tires for both my 3.6R (17" tires) and my wife's Toyota RAV (V6). Funny thing... I've found a tire that fits both vehicles and has pretty high ratings for all seasons: Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring(Grand Touring All-Season) Not sure if they will have an 18" size for the GT wheels. Otherwise, the next best tire (in my humble opinion) is this: Continental ExtremeContact DWS(Ultra High Performance All-Season)

killerniceguy
I have a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS(Ultra High Performance All-Season)on my LGT, quite like them (8,000kms now). Very quiet, confortable, excellent wet weather behaviour and should be very good in the snow the reviews say, hasn't snowed here yet. What is said about the soft side walls is true, increase tire pressure a bit and in a week you won't really notice. Of all the all seasons I have run (lots of set up here in Canada over the years) I have the most faith in these and will buy a set for my wifes car when hers are due. There are higher performance all seasons available but less capable in the 'all season' departments as the DWS. As a bonus they are fairly cheap too. slimjim2
I strongly recommend looking at nitto neo gen for the performance end of all season and Goodyear eagle gt for bad weather high performance AS. Goodyear has a softer sidewalk, a little quieter, and has a 50000 mi warranty! Both are great quality that won't cost you an arm and a Michelin:) Have had both on manual LGT wagon. Recommend Goodyear if you are at all concerned about snow!
hmmrdwn
Nokian's are great tires. According to the reviews, the Yokohama Avids and Continental Eco's look good. Nokian's have great reputations for making all season tires that perform well in both winter and summer. A little more expensive and hard to find. http://www.nokiantires.com/

Fletch113
Not trying to threadjack but I have a related question. if I get winter rims & tires do I need to get TPMS for those or can I run without them? Im new to those sensors haha. Post pics once rims are on, im thinking about going that same route. Any suspension mods to go along with the rim swap? minuccims
Yup, you can run without them. The TPMS light flashes for about 30 seconds when the car is started and then stays on.
Oculusauto
Perfect thread timing! I've been looking and had some of the Nokians and Goodyears in mind. What's everyone got for mileage out of the stock Potenza RE050s? I think I'm passed the expected lifespan as I'm coming up on 20K miles;)

Id get 2 summer's out of them, rotating them once. About 8000 miles per summer. It will be about the same on my GT.

nightspeed98
+1 on continental extreme contact DWS. They are quiet, great traction in even snow. Con. Soft sidewall, so beware of potholes.

musty_hustla
I usually buy the cheapest available at pepboys, costco, or firestone. I've had good luck with Kumho (great name) in the past.

CL21376
all-seasons, Jack of all trades, master of none. Agreed for the most part....I'd run summer/winter tires instead of summer/all seasons if I needed to drive on snow more than a dozen times a year.
