Grimmrican
So I noticed during these cold winterish days that during my warm up everything is working properly like its supposed to. I have a 5mt so I have the ebrake up during the warm up so obviously the brake light stays on. When I release the ebrake and commence to drive down the road I noticed the brake light stays on. Now I've done some thorough searching to make sure there's any leaks. Luckily there's no leaks and the Rez is full. Earlier this afternoon I went out when it was warmer and when I started driving no brake light. So my guess the cold is somehow affecting the sensors. Plz correct me if I'm wrong. I'm hoping this is the problem. And I'm pretty sure if I drive with the brake light on The and won't work like its supposed to?? Idk. Plz help
Stang70Fastback
How is the brake light activated? Because if it's some sort of push button, it might just be sticking in the cold and not popping back out right away.
Grimmrican
That does make sense. So where's the botton connected to the ebrake??
monkeyposeur
The ebrake on my SS did this the other day. I parked it, and when I came back and started it was back to normal.
Grimmrican
It's weird and annoying. I noticed this last year in the winter too but forgot all about it thru the summer. And it's starting to piss me off on the way to work in the mornings.
Grimmrican
I also did notice that when the car is nice n warm and if I restart the car it goes off. But it needs to be at normal temp
monkeyposeur
Yeah, it is annoying. I kinda got pissed off for a minute, but the SS is acting up in other ways so it all builds upon itself.
subikid90
My car does it too. The brake light switch is very sensitive, and the slightest hold up will keep the light lit. As long as your e-brake didnt freeze you should be fine. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap

As long as your e-brake didnt freeze you should be fine. Good to know. Like I said everything drives and works like its supposed to even when the light is on.
