SoldonSubie
I know someone here asked about this a while back. I was at my dealer yesterday getting some routine work done and looked up the numbers on their showroom display. This data is from the same source (I forget which one) that was used as the basis for the "we're faster than you are" ads that ran when the cars were released last year. Base Legacy GT wagon, 5MT (kind of a moot point now) 0-60 5.9 seconds. 1/4 mile at 14.4 Base Outback XT, 5MT 0-60 5.9 seconds. 1/4 mile at 14.5 seconds. One other interesting note is the LGT was 2/10th a second faster from 40 – 60. I believe 2.8 seconds vs. 3.0 for the XT. I don’t know the LGT sedan ¼ mile time but 0-60 is 5.8. I know it sort of ancient history now considering the only MT wagon that's left is the XT Ltd., but interesting nonetheless.
