92 Subaru Legacy Audio Wiring

HELP!!!!, LoL! Well I've ran into a problem. I have a 92 Subaru Legacy Wagon. When I got it all the speakers were blown, and the radio sometimes made sounds like it was ejecting a cd, but otherwise did not work. I replace the speakers, and got a new receiver. Also, grabbed a wiring harness as well. Spliced all the wiring correctly together with the new harness and plugged everything in, nothing got power at that point. (tired acc and with car running) I then however noticed that the (older after market wiring harness) that was installed had fuses built into the wiring themselves. Such as a lonely 3 A on the (red) ignition wire, and a 15 A on the (yellow) Battery wire. Now would these make the difference? If anyone has some insight I'd greatly appreciate it.
