boost/ acceleration issues

Recommended Posts

So i have a big problem or my Subie is possessed!

i own a 2006 Legacy GT, EA trans, aftermarket turbo, new motor and internals, Cobb SS Down-pipe, manga-flow exhaust,

about two weeks ago i blew the turbo coolant hose.

engine heated up real good but not in the red thank god! So i fixed that mess and now as of last week of so my car drives fine in electronic manual 1st thru 5th, and fine in sport mode but when i put it in standard drive, it won't hold constant boost at full throttle, and it has a real strange sound when i hard accelerate ( almost like strapping a cherry bomb glass pack to the exhaust system a real hollow sound) I have searched through every topic in the troubleshooting forums on here and nothing as of yet has help me find the culprits.

Please any help is sooo greatly appreciated.

I don't understand automatics, why would it only make the noise in one driving mode and not the others.

Make first guess is a vacuum leak. PM ClimberD, he is real good with automatics.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

we really need more information. could be your tranny slipping. the tcu calls for less clutch pack line pressure when in standard D mode, manual modes call for more pressure. Clutches may be slipping in D.

but boost leaks can make weird noises too, check your throttle body hose and make sure all hose clamps are snug.
