I commute to the city every day and As far as holding up all suspension parts on my care have completly fallen apart and worn out, cracked and bent 3 out 4 aftermarket wheels. Tons creaks have developed. The car has not held up at all compared to other cars I have owned. Its a 2008

Holy crap. That's pretty extreme. But, I don't drive my car that often it's mainly a weekend warrior with 16k on MY09.

Most of my driving is local about 80% of the time. When I do make long trips its up towards Vermont for snowboarding. The roads are trashed by winter with snowplows destroying the roads. I've hit a ton of 'phantom' craters and the worst was tweaked alignment which is easily fixed.

.... from New Jersey and I brought my Subaru with me. Not sure if I am going to keep it or sell. Hey new yorkers and Subaru owners how has your car held up in the tristate area?

It all depends if you will have a parking spot or garage at the end of the day. If you're doing street parking you car will inevitably receive some love from other parkers. If I do need to find street parking, I spend a few extra minutes finding spots that's on a deserted block or adjacent to a fire hydrant so I can atleast protect one end of the car. If I'm lucky, I could be isolated on both ends. But it's not easy in NYC.

Welcome! If you are in need of anything we are just over the river in NJ.

With that said, I parked my 05 LGT wagon in manhattan for 3 years, never had an issue parking on the street, just have to smart when you park and you should be good.
