cheeseenlo
I'm having trouble installing the towers and clips on the window trim. As per instruction, I've set the front bar width to 40" and the rear bar to 39" As I'm tightening down the clips I feel a lot of resistance and its chewing through the clip. I feel like its not really pulling down the clip at all. Also, I can't snap the handle assembly into the clip to make it lock in. What the hell is going on here? I'm going to give it another try tomorrow. I'm extremely frustrated with this thing. Thanks for any advice from anyone.
05lgt5spd
hey, on the directions, my set gave me dimensions for width, they didnt seem right to me, I just adjusted them to where they seemed to fit better on the roofline. You shouldnt feel THAT much resistance. Here are my measurements on my rack, from the inside of rubber pad to inside of rubber pad. Your towers are too far close to eachother and the clamp is having to stretch too far. 40 3/4---front 39 1/2---rear pm me if you are still having issues

coldradio1
I just installed my Yakima yesterday. Such a pain in the ass for adjusting them. But it looks so pretty when its done. The Yakima measurements are a bit different from the ones stated above but the towers are slightly different too.

05lgt5spd
I dont remember, If you get on the thule site, you type in your car and they automatically show what size you need. I can get a measurement if you cant get it on the site

05lgt5spd
yeah, you know what, get ahold of DRSPEED on this forum, he hooked me up with my set brand new, at a great price. Cheaper than anywhere else you can find it. Real stand up guy too. I have some more pics of the car with the setup also. If you want the setup like mine this is where you start: http://www.thule.com/en/US/FitGuide.aspx#startApp
MattD
Is it me, or does Yakima just look so much nicer then Thule? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2712/4185662959_79a00489e9.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2485/4185663243_410f70fc4e.jpg

cheeseenlo
Oh, Cheeseenlo, thats a nice rack you got there! wahaha. thanks! so far so great. My cousin's friend just installed a thule setup on his new murano. This past weekend we had some crazy 40+ mph winds. A pigeon lost control and slammed right into the carrier and broke it off the clips. Poor pigeon. I think you went a little overboard with the soften/sharpen filters. and you didn't do it cleanly LOL. My photographer took the shot and literally spent 2 mins trying to butter it up. Hahaha. You gots a keen eye. But I really love this shot. 10.5mm fisheye FTW!

But I really love this shot. 10.5mm fisheye FTW! What can I say... who's the photographer? I have to have a keen eye on these things - for me, I do it all right in camera because I don't want to use Photoshop on my photos. I think I'll be getting a Prorack as they look better than the Thule system. Followed with either the Thule 561 or 591 bike carrier...
subiedoo415
when you carry 4 boards do you take the bindings off the bottom 2? I'm thinking about getting a rack but worried about other peoples gear scratching up my roof
