There was more than one style of RFRB grille. I believe the OP is depicting the earlier style. Not necessarily a knockoff. I think hansvonaxian had one of these for sale recently. Baddog
Yeah its a first generation.
hansvonaxion
Yeah it's for the type A JDM BD/BG Legacy, it's shorter than the one for type B&C and I've been told it won't fit USDM Legacies, not sure about Liberty but I would guess the AUDM Liberty is basically the same as JDM so it should fit your '95 model. Be aware, the bottom part screws into the bumper.

Yeah its a first generation. unpossible! lol I'm still learning things...but the fact that it says its for a 95-99 Legacy/Liberty STI kind of raises a red flag -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." ThatGuyFromAus
Sweet picked it up on eBay for 90 bucks cant complain, spoke to the seller and said he would happy take it back if it did not fit or i didn't think it was genuine.

hansvonaxion
I've never mounted one or examined a type A bumper up close, but if you've git clips on your bumper under where the grille goes then it's a good bet that's where this will screw in. I have a type B and there are no clips in the bumper, my grille mounts across the top and at 2 points L/R on the headlights.
ThatGuyFromAus
Ok just had a look looks like i got both the clips in the headlights and the clips in the bumper bar. Hope it fits my original grill attaches to these headlight clips note the clips on the headlight
hansvonaxion
Yeah only that RFRB uses the screws afaik. Looks like it should screw in there. Actually the early model grille is perfect for making a custom job, you can just unscrew the plastic honeycomb, paint it and screw in some mesh. The later models are all moulded one piece so you have to cut them up and it's a pain.

hansvonaxion
No I wanted one like that for my late model BG but there's only an optional "sports mesh" grille that looks similar and they're rare as hens' teeth... so I had to try to make my own. Booo.

Rallybrothers
I love the RFRB grille but I CANNOT stand the gap at the bottom! eventually im going to make me a mesh grill too... 2 cents spoken!
hansvonaxion
Well I had a look at the bumper today and the late model also has those holes/plugs along the bumper under the grille. But the early model grille is shorter so it won't fit the late model no matter what.

hansvonaxion
I think that's how it's supposed to fit looking at this pic, you just need to straighten the top out, can't tell why it's sagging. http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/xl1200/imgs/2/5/253197e6.jpg
ThatGuyFromAus
wow thanks for that didnt think it was supposed to look like that yea I only got two screws holding it in up the top i think thats why its sagged.
ThatGuyFromAus
What bumper bar is that looks like it fits the grille better?
hansvonaxion
I think it's an RFRB bumper, so figures it fits nicely. If you can clean up the little "lip" on the bumper, get some black clips and fix the sag it should look a lot better.
