need bb
I am finally getting around to replacing my rotors and pads on my 05 Legacy. Other Legacy owners who have driven my wagon always comment that the brakes are horrible. I have read that the caliper slides sometime seize and I was wondering if it makes sense to just replace them given the car is 9 years old? Is there anything else I should replace with the braking system while I work on the car? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
MaStaMooN
You'll be able to tell if you need to pull the sliders out and relube. My calipers were shot by 100k miles on my 05 LGT. I would guess you have a stuck piston vs a stuck slider. The piston boots on mine were shot to hell and the pistons were not moving as they should. outahere
I would only replace them if they are badly corroded.
