garygbnj
Car now has 158 k miles. Had intermittent stalling when coming to a stop. Mechanic cleaned the throttle body and all was well for about a year. I have been using Chevron techron every couple of months. The stalling has started to return. Do I need a new (or rebuilt throttle body) or what do I have to do for a more permanent resolution?

Brian3676
The throttle body is super easy to remove and clean. It's 2 coolant lines and 4 10mm bolts. Gas does not effect your throttle body it's direct injection, meaning right into the intake ports, way after the throttle body
garygbnj
Why do you think the stalling started again only a year after the throttle body was cleaned? The car was fine for 7-8 years from new before the stalling started.

Direct injection means fuel is injected directly into the cylinder. Conventional multi-port injection injects fuel just upstream of the intake port and it all gets sucked in with your intake charge together. It's a subtle but important difference.
