SilverSeraphim
http://www.mcnproductions.com/lgt/exterior/lgt91.jpg As far as I'm concerned they're amazing. A perfect look for the LGT. I hope I can pick some up (or something very similar) for my Leggy. =]
Gire
BBS RE. Very spendy. Or you can find the 18" Rota knock off for about a 1/4 of the price. check out wheel dude dot com for the Rotas.
SilverSeraphim
Rota Formula Mesh? http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=335_336_394 http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/images/formula_cgray_1880_5_05.jpg

Gire
Bah! We aren't driving race cars here... a 25lb rim just means you have to crank up the boost a little more to compensate!
SilverSeraphim
Hahaha. Yeah I mean really. What could POSSIBLY go wrong? *cough* [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8znD7-l5Tmo]YouTube - Drag Racing in the Dirty South[/ame]
Gire
I said 25lbs, not 65lbs! That is a funny vid!
SilverSeraphim
Out of curiousity, how heavy are LGT stockers??
Gire
I think we covered this back in 2005, so I'm fuzzy, but I think they are about 22-23lbs each. Not uber-light by any means. I think the 2006 Spec B wheels are about the same which had everybody disappointed too... considering how sexy they look.
SilverSeraphim
So 18" Formula Mesh wheels would be comparable weight to my stockers then?
Gire
Comparable, yes. If you upgrade to Rotas, go for the 18x8" version so you can throw some meatier rubber under the car.
SilverSeraphim
Agreed. =D Thanks for all the info Gire!
GTTuner
Your going to need a good strong wheel for those lovely roads in Providence. Welcome to the forum.
HansGT
Bah! We aren't driving race cars here... a 25lb rim just means you have to crank up the boost a little more to compensate! True...not race cars but you know 20lbs. vs. 25lbs....25% increase...should show up in loss of mpg, loss of acceleration, and adding unsprung weight will indeed make your suspension have to work harder. rao
Can you quantify the difference in MPG and acceleration? Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
HansGT
^ well it depends if you have a spec b or not.
rao
So would the difference be larger or smaller with a Spec B? Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
HansGT
^ being a superior vehicle the spec b will not be affected.
cfdrumr
little known fact... the spec.b actually "likes" un-sprung, un-needed weight. Throw some 40lb chromes on there and magically 325whp...hmm
05lgt5spd
kind of look like my einkis, and they were cheap!
Fugaziiv
the spec.b has magical properties true, but is nowhere as cool as a wagon. lol.
SnowBound BP5
Out of curiousity, how heavy are LGT stockers?? 20.4 lbs. exactly.
dustincredible
Possibly one of the hottest 06 Spec B's on the forums. Those are the BBS RE's like Gire said. Amazing looking wheels but VERY pricey. Sold: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B #104 of
