Exhaust Audio/Video Clip Compilation Thread

Here's a couple vids of my Legacy 3.6R exhaust stock:

With Magnaflow ABE:

http://www.youtube.com/user/rockshocker808#p/a/u/0/XkyLm9_bOsc

Also did some decibel readings:

Stock: idle 64db...... @ 4000rpm 70db

Magnaflows: idle 67db...... @ 4000rpm 82db

I would have thought the 3.6R would've been one hell of a deep rumble, but the exhaust sounds kinds of flat.

There aren't too many LGT exhaust vids with equal length headers, so...

Here's my LGT with:

Blouch 20G-XT

Perrin ELH

TurboXS UP

Cobb catted DP

HKS "Silent" HiPower catback

Here's my CXRacing purchased on eBay last week from etdmotors and emails came from CXRacing, too. So there's a current place to get it. It does appear to have a smaller resonator than others I had seen, and probably contributes to the drone inside. There's quite a lot from like 2300-2800rpms, especially cruising off throttle/coasting...

Anyways... the goodies IN the box!

http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx30/toomanytoyz2/Scoobie/009.jpg

And all the polished goody-ness!

http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx30/toomanytoyz2/Scoobie/010.jpg

Installed:

http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx30/toomanytoyz2/Scoobie/012.jpg

http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx30/toomanytoyz2/Scoobie/013.jpg

Yeah, it's off in the cutouts to the insides, but I knew that going in. ;)

And here's a couple daytime pics from today...

http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx30/toomanytoyz2/Scoobie/015.jpg

http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx30/toomanytoyz2/Scoobie/016.jpg

And here's the real deal. It sounds KILLER! Wear headphones or play through good speakers. You can't hear it at idle or most of it through laptops speakers. Through the phones though, it gives you a pretty accurate representation. I love it!

Sorry for the background noise, I live on a busy road. Boo.

And I gotta say, this was the EASIEST exhaust system I ever uninstalled/installed. I LOVE no over-the-axle pipes! We had the old exhaust off in like 10 minutes, and the new one took about 20 to install. Awesome.

Stage 2

CNT Catted DP, Avo Panel filter.

Wow, that sounds great even on these crappy laptop speakers. I am so in awe of you guys, wish these were still available!

Well, the search for something else continues...what's this Bosal 1.5 all about?

Simple muffler delete! Had my local exhaust shop chop off the mufflers and replace them with straight pipes. The cost was slightly higher than I though it would be, I had to get new tips since one of my stock ones was mashed against the muffler, but the new tips look pretty sick IMO. Cost was $193 out the door.

To me, the exhaust sounds insanely good. Rumbles like a beast at low rpm, roars nicely up top. Not too loud, definitely not too quiet as well, a perfect standby for anyone looking for a mean sound to their LGT while they do other mods (I personally will be doing an up pipe, intake, bypass/recirculation valve and AP before a turbo back exhaust). I have my install pics, no video yet though, I'll give it a go ASAP :)

P.S. I know the poor car is kinda dirty, it's been raining on and off for days here in the good 'ol Pacific Northwest

Just forgot to give me props for the design ;)

Cutting the factory tips off like I did was a bit of a pain, but luckily me and my friends make up what we call sketchy garage and get things done. Glad you like the overall result.

Oh damn Shelby, you're right! Lol my bad, props to you for both the inspiration and the advice. You'll probably notice in the pics that the guy at the shop just chopped off the flange section entirely, which I was fine with since my next exhaust mod is most likely going to be a DP and cat-back going in at once. Still, sounds freakin tits and easily worth the small pittance I paid.

Also, here's the video link!

Its loud. Its basically running open downpipe. I've ran a 3" catless dp, with full 3" piping to two 2.5" pipes to the back for a short time. It sounds great at idle but it gets annoying very quickly on the highway and every where else really.

I think its funny how most of these are recorded RIGHT next to the exhaust...

A place where no one will hear them... More drive bys and interior vids please that will tell us what your exhaust sounds like to the driver and the outside world... not the imaginary guy sitting on your bumper or dragging along 3' behind the car.

I like the vids outside however close they maybe, at least I can hear what the cops could potentially hear. better than nothing I guess.

heres my newest clip of my stage 1-2 mods. hopefully you guys can hear the difference from a stock with a cbe to a catless turbo back setup with top mount.
