longislander1 Posted September 16, 2014 Share Posted September 16, 2014 The head unit (radio/HVAC) in my '08 Outback goes on and off, or stays on and freezes, without the ability to adjust the radio or change the temperature. Anyone know what is going on and whether it's going to mean replacement of the entire unit? (I've heard the head unit can't be repaired.) I'm wondering if there's a loose connection under there. Rhitter Posted September 16, 2014 Share Posted September 16, 2014 Mine does this occasionally. I searched around a couple people have got them replaced and that seems to do the trick. Some had a loose wire in the back of the head unit that they were able to fix. Doesn't seem to be a conclusive answer to how to fix it.
