I've been driving Subarus pretty much since my first Legacy wagon exposure in '90. Just picked up a white '08 OB Ltd. After about one year with a BMW 325 iT wagon, I got nervous about long term maintenance costs - and went back to Suby. I'm going to replace the OB 7 spoke mags with 05 -07 Legacy GT mags. I'm a clean wheel freak and these are easier to keep clean. Last year we sold our '05 Legacy GT 5MT wagon because of the uncomfortable passenger seat. My wife and I feel the OB seats are will be better. If not, I'm going to get them re-padded. We'll see. With all due respect to the Bimmers out there, I'm just a lot more comfortable in the OB; not a lot of power, but a great ride. And, I needed more room to carry my tuba. The BMW 325 wagon is really small in the back end - somewhat to my surprise. I hadn't done my homework in that area.

All for now but I could go on and on.

Test-drove both 09 OB 5MT & the 09 Legacy 2.5i 5MT I finally wound up with.

Was actually going to go with a black OB 5MT (loved the look, ground clearance, storage, etc.) but the incentives on the Legacy around here were way too tantalizing to overlook. ;)

09 OBW...looking for suspension upgrades...ALREADY!!!! 7000 miles and can't stand it

edited 10/02/2010: traded 09 base with hubcaps for an 07 XT LTD 5sp....most bells and whistles. MUCH more fun....but it needs suspension upgrades too...more than the NA 2.5.

another dp/up/open source tuned obp obxt here. I was waiting to post until I had pics though sadly am camera-less at the moment.

she's a daily so she doesn't get the attention my other rigs have.

edit: borrowed a camera, playing with hdr and the original...and one more hdr I kind of liked...severely limited by the point and shoot camera and the fact that these are faked via a singal shot.

About 2 months ago acquired 08 OB Ltd "regular" non XT. White. Only change: took off the 08 factory seven spoke mags and replaced with Legacy GT 5 spoke. Think they're better looking and easier to keep clean. Only complaint: daytime instrument illumination is so weak that I can't see tack/speedo during bright daylight. Really miss my 05 Legacy GT electro-illuminated dash. Does anyone know what I might do about that.

I read this and couldn't sleep last night!!!!!!

my OBXT has 70k on it' a stock VF40.

What are the warning signs? Or does it just grenade?

Do I need to buy a VF52 or AVO380 preemptively?

I HS/College I had a 1987 Thunderbird turbo coupe stock turbo was still working at 156,000 when I sold it.

Nice pic T, thanks for reminding me how much I really wanted the red one.

In payback, I'll direct you to this thread, source of many sleepless nights for XT/GT owners.
