Swapping 3rd brake and liscense plate lights

I want to hit my third brakelight with nightshades and paint the housing black. Im also trying to swith the liscense platelights to L.E.D.'s. The manual just says these can be difficult to change so have the dealer do it. Help please!

to remove the brake light, there is 2 small circular tabs on each end of the brake light on the bottom. pop them out and theres screws under them. Use your shortest philips screwdriver to unscrew..Then cover should pop off easily. To put it back on just go in reverse order.

 

To change the bulbs you just have to remove the carpet on the reverse side by popping all the tabs. Its real easy to do, dont worry about breaking the tabs when removing. Pull the carpet off ad you should see the bulbs.

Be very careful with the plate lights, i replaced mine and its kinda hard to reach your hand back there to tighten them down. I had a bulb fall out of the socket twice and it took about 20 mins to remove it. So in other words make sure the bulb is tight in the socket.

Will do, I have yet to get in there but what style base do I need on the bulbs? I know the size is 168.

take your license plate off, undo the 2 bolts, and then just pop off the lower lid ofthe trunk. Then snap down the license plate tab where the bulbs are located and it allows easy access.
