lockmedic
EDIT 06/2016: so this is kind of a build thread now. The shenanigans start at p3. Here's what I started with (sorry for sideways pic, dunno/care how to fix it): http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=231231&stc=1&d=1464618757 And here's where we're at now: http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=231852&stc=1&d=1465650248 Back to the original post: ---------------------------------------------------------- Ok I realize asking for opinions on paint color is like asking what kind of porn I should watch, but figured I'd throw this out for discussion, because you never know, I might actually like watching dolphin/midget/hermaphrodite threesomes . . I bought a wrecked 08 LGT that was pretty much hit everywhere, albeit lightly. So after scrounging up straight body panels and buying a few new ones, the whole car needs to be painted. It's slate grey metallic. I have no problem with that color, just figured if I'm paying for paint, why not let it be a color I choose? I can (and will) cut in the jambs/underhood/trunk but I'll leave the stuff that needs to be pretty to the professionals. WRB comes to mind but I honestly think that might make it look a little too Impreza-y. Stock Subaru colors from any other generation/model would be preferable but the sky's the limit. Thoughts? What color do you WISH they'd offered on the 4th gen GT?
Harsho1
I've always been a fan of the Yellow 1st gen lexus IS300's, I know its not the same but that is a good looking sedan.
SneakyGT
I've never really liked purple on cars but after seeing a bugeye at a car show around here I think some sort of deep purple would look really nice. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8170/8035539358_dc1ca8cc00_b.jpg

lockmedic
The "hyper" blue looks a little too "baby" blue to me. but yeah, now we're getting somewhere. After seeing the wagon in WRB I agree it might not be that good of a choice. Ford's E9 (laser red tinted metallic) has always been a favorite of mine, but it's a 3 stage paint. $$$$$ http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/attachments/2011-2014-mustang-talk/162558d1345862622-2013-ford-mustang-gt-accessory-pack-1-louvers-scoops-worth-100_3211.jpg
SneakyGT
I gotta say that laser red is $$$exy. Personally, if I didn't go with a full repaint, I'd go with a wrap but I'd be stuck between mercedes silver or charcoal-ish both in matte/satin. Only colors I really like with a matte finish. seanyb505
WRB is really bright...I'd look into Garnet Red or Regal Blue if staying in LGT colors, Plasma Blue Metallic is a decent color too. Basically any deep blues and reds.
Redslaya
do it WRB http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y249/danhurwitz/Events/Tokyo%20Auto%20Salon%202007/Legacy/01-16127Large.jpg~original http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/Moore0070/LEGACY_BP5-058649_FRONT1-1.jpg
762x39
Not a fan of the WRB even on the STi, but that's just me. I feel like it screams "Look at me I'm a tool with a shriveled 'lil pee pee!" I have always liked the Pearlescent White that Cadillac makes. I think it would look nice on any Subaru all waxed up.
apexi
After looking up more pictures of Ford Laser Red Tinted Metallic, Subaru Cayenne Red Pearl 22w looks like it might be kind of close to that. I've always liked deeper darker reds, not a bad color. http://gtcarlot.com/vehicle-archives/Subaru_Forester_2.5+X_color_Cayenne+Red+Pearl.html

WRB isn't THAT ostentatious but it gets pretty rowdy esp. with the big wings and stickers. Pearl white is another nice one. soo many choices! On that cayenne red: I actually had an 04 FXT in that color for a while. It was pretty, but not laser red pretty. Laser red looks like it's about 3 feet deep. WinstonSmith
I would probably go with WRB, but one of my all time favorite Subaru colors was the "Cherry Blossom Red" that was on the bigeye when it was first release in Japan. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v412/bobalouy/cherry%20blossom%20red/dsc00003.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v412/bobalouy/cherry%20blossom%20red/dsc00004.jpg

Holla
All over the map here, lol. Personally, I'd do a gunmetal like color, keep it classy.
lockmedic
All over the map here, lol. Personally, I'd do a gunmetal like color, keep it classy. . . and that's something I'm wrestling with as well. The LGT has a more adult aura about it vs. the Impreza so it seems a little silly to paint it some off the wall color. . . kind of like a 40 year old wearing a sideways hat and saggy jeans. But I figure it'll be a while before I get a chance to change colors on a car for a legitimate reason. . . so make it count. I do like that cherry blossom red. sexay. JmP6889928
Metallic Candy Rootbeer Pearl. Saw a C6 Corvette that had this on it with some Candy Apple Red accents and about a foot of clear coat on it. It had VERY wide BBS gold center deep dish crosshatch wheels on it and it was absolutely stunning. I can't get a photo to make it through but here's a link to some photos. https://www.google.com/search?q=candy+rootbeer+paint&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=633&tbm=isch&imgil=YJBtqng00EikRM%253A%253BvQ7ZnbYCvCNvsM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.youtube.com%25252Fwatch%25253Fv%2525253D2RgfzhdwYes&source=iu&pf=m&fir=YJBtqng00EikRM%253A%252CvQ7ZnbYCvCNvsM%252C_&usg=__icMTkzbiGTbRgOW73XRF2s_Pi2Q%3D&ved=0CEgQyjdqFQoTCNfbwrnG6sYCFRIakgod5XAAyg&ei=TVqtVZeBPZK0yATl4YHQDA#imgrc=YJBtqng00EikRM%3A&usg=__icMTkzbiGTbRgOW73XRF2s_Pi2Q%3D
