rmb2485
I've been meaning to change the oil in the Subie since I got it a few months ago, and its finally at the top of my list of things to do. I'd like to pick up supplies on the way home from work today, but I forgot to look up the oil specs in the service manual last night and I don't have the car with me today so I can't even look in the owner's manual. So, in the interest of saving me from having to go home and then back out to the store this afternoon (yes, I know how lazy that sounds ), how much and what type of oil do I need for the 2.5L in my 1998 Legacy GT? I'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of five quarts of 5W30 dino? Also, is there a crush washer on the drain plug?

WESTcoast
5 quarts of of 5w30 i and then remeber in the summer to run 10w30, as the 5 thinner and better for cold starts in the winter, and 10 is good for summer head to keep the engine properly lubed! but 5quarts of 5w30 oil filter of choice and your pan for the oil to dump in
