a few questions:

is it up to date to work with a kenwood excelon dnx6980? will i need Metra's special USB-CAB programming cable for the latest firmware?

has anyone hooked up an aftermarket radio and has the blueconnect in they're car. svxdc tells me it "simply taps power from the radio harness and connects to a mute wire on the back of the OEM HU. You can connect it the same way with an aftermarket HU, provided it has a mute wire (which most do)." so is there a seperate harness to the blueconnect unit?

has anyone taken out that plastic piece where the factory hk sub would go? plan on building a box there, wondering if anyone has pulled that out to save me a few minutes.

from an email i recieved from 96svx.dc who is making the harnesses i need "Connecting a HU's parking brake input to recent Legacys/Outbacks can be problematic, due to those models' electronic brake system. With most HUs, you can use various techniques to avoid connecting that wire." what would those techniques be?

will also be hooking this up http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104S.html

yes i am clueless to what i'm doing, but my friend who is helping me is not, he's a mechanic at Boeing and does things like this a lot, but he doesn't really care about something that's not his own car. i just would like to have an idea what's going on so i can do all this in a weekend.
