dante2699yahoo.com
I was wonderin if therre was a way to run the fog lights without turnin the headlights on.
fwa2500
you would have to re-wire them separate from the main harness, i believe.....i have mine wired separately because my car didnt originally have fogs
dante2699yahoo.com
So you can run them whenever you want? I know therre was a post for this. But not sure wherre it is.

I Donated broknindarkagain Posted April 24, 2010 I Donated Share Posted April 24, 2010 You can run a fuse/power wire to the switch from the battery....and from the switch to the lights. You can also wire it to the parking / running lights instead of the headlights. No matter what you do, you're going to have to run new wiring -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Stang70Fastback
I know it is illegal for a vehicle to be able to run the fogs without the headlights. I wonder if you could be pulled over though...?
whos_that_guy
i kinda wonder how hard it would be to do this, pull the dash off, and switch the wires from turn signal light runners and fog lights
Stang70Fastback
I would think the easiest way would be to splice two relays onto the wires for the headlights, and then run one wire from those into the passenger compartment to a switch, or something to that extent... I Donated broknindarkagain Posted April 25, 2010 I Donated Share Posted April 25, 2010 You're going through a lot of trouble pulling out the dash. Its easier to do all the wiring on the other end (under the hood). As for the illegal without headlights comment, I have never heard that before. You can have just about anything on your vehicle even if its not legal. For example, here in Georgia underglow lights are illegal....but if you're parked and have them on you're not breaking the law. As long as you're not driving it down the road then you won't have any problems. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Stang70Fastback
I think I might have it mixed up. I think it's that it's illegal to have the foglights on with your high-beams. There is SOMETHING that is illegal one way or another, lol.

Zues Marine
its not possible to have fully independent fogs from oem equipment unless you pull all the wiring and redo.. but this is close enough http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/diy-independent-fogs-136357.html?p=2926408#post2926408
one bad bg
heres the best way to have your fogs fully independant. 1. take these, your stock fogs(or aftermarket if you have them in place of the stock fogs) http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/4072/3721/22679360020_large.jpg 2. now take a tester to the back of it and find out which one of the 2 wires is + and which one is - 3. the buy some of this http://www.semarine.com/store/image.php?productid=351 4. and then buy one of these http://www.elecdirect.com/images/pageheaders/Cole_Hersee_RockerSwitches.jpg 5. now. jump the 2 +'s and the 2 -'s of the fogs together with the wire, then run it into the car. 6. take out you stock fog light switch and throw it away 7. get a blank plate off of a subie that didnt have oem fogs. 8. put the toggle switch in the blank plate 9. the wire you brought in the car, ya, plug it into the toggle switch 10. power and ground the toggle switch to an ACC power source(this means it only has power when the car is on.) 11. turn car on 12. do not turn on headlights 13. flip toggle switch 14. enjoy your fully independant fogs. i hope this helped. not to be that guy but this isnt rocket science. its simple wiring. and on the subject of lights and wiring, for those who have a second gen rx7 and want your flip up's to be controlled separatly from actually turning the lights on, pull out the flip up button, cut the brown wire, hook it up to a toggle with ground, turn headlights on. if they flip up, turn them off, then flip the switch you put in and turn them back on....vwalla your headlights will now turn on but they wont flip up. for those who dont have a second gen rx7, you wouldnt understand why we would want our headlights on while they werent fliped up lol. Zues Marine
it is really simple.. but you can use the stock fog switch, just tap into the harness
one bad bg
yes you could. but that would require a wiring diagram and some repining, which might confuse some. i made it very simple
dante2699yahoo.com
Yes you did. But I'm not tryin to hav a thousand wires runnin everywherre either. But thanks.
one bad bg
Yes you did. But I'm not tryin to hav a thousand wires runnin everywherre either. But thanks. amateur all you would need is that roll of red and black wire. and if done right, you shouldnt be able to see any of it. the only thing that wouldnt look stock is the toggle in place of your oem fog button. but you could get a flush mount toggle and then it would all look stock. if you think about it. you just need to run the wire from one fog to the other(tuck it into the bumper support), and then run it through the firewall right behind the brake booster(plenty of stuff along the way to tuck it under, and theres a blank gromit behind the booster). so no, there wont be a thousand wires running everywhere, just 2, and theyll be molded together, so really it would only be 1. one bad bg
let me ask you something. assuming you have, but in the past, when you wire up a sub and amp, does it look like thishttp://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b266/brushlessae/gti/worklog/HPIM0631.jpg or do you take your time like i do and make it look like mine http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c144/kelesez/sub.jpg?t=1272292894 its just a question, no need to get flippy about anything.
