DanJz
Hey everyone It's getting pretty cold this time of year here in NY, and washing my car by hand, while giving a much better result in the end, is just not that pleasant when it's in the 20s and 30s. I have RallyArmor mud flaps installed on my 06 2.5i. I was wondering, has anyone had an issue running through an automated car wash with these flaps on? I'm paranoid that I'll be in the car wash and I'll watch some big brush thing come and just rip the mud flaps right off the car or something so I want to make sure that nobody's ever had this issue before. Thanks! DanJz
chicken n waffles
i had a set of rallys on my sti and never had a single problem. granted, i only went through an auto wash once with it since i usually preferred to do it myself.
CTATV
watch out for soap in the intercooler though...
tito_b0y
watch out for soap in the intercooler though... Especially on the 2.5i. Our intercoolers aren't as sturdy as the GT's, unless you swapped one in. 2006 SWP 3.0R 5EAT VDC BBQ 2008 OBP 2.5i 4EAT BBQ [RIP]
DanJz
I'll be sure to keep soap far away from my intercooler, don't worry...
Nrw
Use a touchless too. Those brushes will scratch the shit out of your paint.
joedirtae09
im only going to brush/touch less car washes from now on... a couple months ago a brush ripped off my CF tail light trim, it very well could have happened to my eyelids!! luckily Jason at R-Rev gave me a good deal for replacements. SCHM1AN
No problems in the car wash. The flaps, however, will pay for themselves by requiring less frequent visits to the car wash in winter! Seriously, the reason I got them last year was because I had so much debris on the side of my car in winter... after the install, there's almost nothing. DanJz
Thanks for the replies everyone! The mud flaps are fantastic, I definitely notice how much debris they keep from spraying up the side of the car now, which is great.
soloz2
Just go to the DIY wash. Rinse your car off then ONR using the 2 bucket method and finish with some spray wax.
