HID on eBay

I was looking on eBay and found this conversion kit http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36476&item=7930078843&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW What do you guys think of it? It's convenient, since they are in Canada, so I won't have to pay duty or high shipping for them. I'll be putting them in my 05 LGT Wagon (abvously).
Although there's nothing inherently bad about the deal, it just seems odd. I'm a perma-skeptic though. PS. If you do decide to get them, please let me know. I'd like to check them out in person and I'm sort-of nearby.
I'm quite skeptical as well. I just don't know what to do about them. I REALLY want to put HIDs in my car too. :(

Seems to me like they are name dropping too often - *HELLA*. Their ballasts use the same technology as HELLA? I think most ballasts use the same technology across the board. This doesn't mean that they will have the reliability of HELLA, but they do offer a 1 year warranty.

It's legit. It looks like an HID kit that is sold under a number of names, such as McCulloch, Xtreme HID and others. I believe that it comes out of Hong Kong and is often found and sold on the internet for right around the price seen on Ebay. It's not as good as the Philips based kits, but considering the price is a good buy. A number of guys on the Mazda6 forum I'm on have it and have been happy with it. My cousin just got one for his BMW 323is' fog lights and it looks good. He said that the bimmer guys have been using a similar kit for a while and have been happy with it as well. The only deceptive thing about the ad, is that they name-drop Hella and say that it is made in Germany. The kit on Ebay has nothing to do with Hella.

From all the homework ive done on HID kits, it seems that replacement plug n play kits produce alot of glare. Halogen reflectors are optically made to conform with the optics and output of a standard halogen bulb and simply inserting a HID kit into the housing results in offensive glare. I gained alot of knowledge from http://www.hidplanet.com forums and http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/

Please, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Our light housings are indeed projectors. Interestingly enough the focal point of our stock H7 bulbs perfectly matches the focal point of the standard xenon D2S bulbs. D2S bulbs are appearantly easy to rebase to an H7, so at that point you have a smooth swap with a stock like beam cutoff. The actual problem with the so-called plug and play kits is that the xenon ballasts draw far too much current at start-up to simply plug in to the stock harnesses. If you are installing an HID kit, you should definately also install a set of relays wired directly to the battery (fused of course) and use the stock harness as switch only.

This is true. Ballast startup can be a strain on the OE system. That is why a simple relay harness should be used when using an HID system. I forgot that you Legacy guys have projectors on your new models. What size halogen bulb do you have currently? If its H7, then there is a direct swap for that type which saves you from buying new projectors.

Yup. H7's. I actually already installed relays and 10 ga. wire direct to the battery and grounds. Currently running a set of slightly overwattage (70w) H7's. Pretty bright, but an HID setup is still very tempting to me. I might try piecing together the parts. You can usually find new D2S bulbs on Ebay as well as OEM ballasts. HIDforums has as guy who sells adapter rings to fit D2S bulb in to an H7 socket for cheap. I think I could get it all together for around $200.
