roundthirteen
I've read that the stock 5mt clutch can/has* held up to 300whp. I'm currently making 255whp and 322 wtq and am looking to upgrade to a 16g or VF52, supported by 650cc injectors, and a better pump. This sounds dumb to me but does the OEM 6mt clutch set up have the capacity to hold more than the stock 5mt? My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
Th3Franz
Yes it does but it is not compatible with the 5MT. I see you have an 08 Spec B, so your clutch should be able to hold up to 350 wtq, at least for awhile. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz

Since it's been on the dyno I've only autocrossed it 1x and haven't had it to test and tune since March/April. I have some DW injectors laying around so even if I run a good number it'll be hard to keep from doing the turbo swap. DeltaNu1142
FWIW, my 5MT held everything my stage 2-tuned VF46 threw at it. When I upgraded to a VF52 with stock fueling, my 5MT clutch started to let go. ...but none of that really applies if you've got a Spec.B with a 6MT. You'll be floating an inch or so off the ground for most of the 1/4 anyway. Tits mcgee

When I ran an OTS Stage 2 tune I ran in the high mid 13's with a 1.9ish 60'. The pro tune the boost is around 18.5/19 rather than whatever Cobb had it at. Plus I'm now running a Cobb EBCS so it a little more consistent. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
rtbrjason
I had a fairly aggressive stage 2 setup and my 6mt clutch started letting go around 40k miles.. I went with an ACT HD and matching streetlite flywheel. The flywheel was the worst mod I've done and I can't wait to put an OEM back in with a FX300/350 soon. If you're going upgraded turbo, I would suggest saving for a clutch. Also I would go with large than 650 injectors.. I went with 750, then went to e85 and I've already maxed them out. On 93 octane, the 750s were at about 75-80% duty with a BNR 16g, so even if you'll never do e85, I'd recommend at least 750s.

roundthirteen
07 My spec B 88,000 stage 2. Stock clutch slips every now and then. Replacing with STi clutch internals What pieces are you swapping in from an STI? I put a new stock clutch on at ~75,000. I've made one trip to test and tune since then (before she was pro tuned) and didn't have any issues. After the tune (back in May) the clutch has been holding 255whp and 322wtq with no complaints. I'm trying to figure out if running the 650 injectors with an upgraded pump will give me any more power (like an extra 20whp). It's always something right, fuel system, clutch, engine internals.....
