Subaru Tecnica International (STI) is currently beefing up an STI model based on the new 2012 Impreza and soon-to-be released WRX. Expect to see a more muscular physique with wide shoulders and hindquarters. Handling benefits from a broader track, a heavily revised suspension, and an aggressively returned all-wheel-drivesystem.

Brakes will definitely be upsized, as will the forged wheels. Both will help cope with the 300-plus-horsepower output from what we believe will be a turbocharged 2.5-liter derived from the new FB20-engine series. When it hits dealers sometime late next year, you can bet it will be the most powerful STI sedan ever, and likely the most efficient.

Ugh, God no! What a mess... BL/BP grill, 5th gen Legacy headlights, Mercedes-esque LED DRLs, disgusting tail lights, Lexus LS exhaust tip.... I swear Subaru's design team really outdo themselves by making uglier and uglier cars each year. It almost seems as if they're trying to incorporate a bit of the hawkeye STi style but failed miserably...

Wait, so it's an "ugly" car? Doesn't that make it MORE of a Subaru then?

I'd still drive it.

I'll look at a new STi when a DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) is ATLEAST an option... Riding in a 2009 Nissan GTR and driving a 2008 VW R32 and 2008 Mitsubishi EVO MR made me have evil thoughts... DEFINITELY want a Subaru with that transmission option... Until then, I'll hang onto my '98 Leggy GT and 06 STi

I dont know what you guys are complaining about. The front end is by far better looking than the "kia" sti we have now. I will agree that the back leaves much to be desired.

Agreed.

The taillights are just...square?
