timing question

Recommended Posts

kinda lazy question, but:

changed timing belt about 2k ago on my 93 legacy. everything is running great. is it necessary to go in there and count the teeth to make sure nothing has slipped?

is one tooth off noticeable?

I wouldnt bother, especially if everything is running great. It can jump up to 5 teeth before it shuts down I'm pretty sure. Not that it'll matter much being a non-interference. That happened to my Legacy once. It was more an inconvenience than anything.

Yeah, but the 95's are an interference engine. If it was a 2.5 I'd say yes, but with a 2.2 it's not really worth it unless it's driving crappy.

No. In 97 is when they became interference.
